Judy Maina

Judy Maina has 15 years of working experience in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). She joined FAO as an Administrator, joined Human Resource Department, and transitioned to the Youth Program from the year 2015.  The Unit’s main mandate is to engage youth in agriculture as a means to catalyze youth engagement in Agribusiness, to unlock decent employment opportunities in the agricultural sector. In it, she takes part in the design, delivery, and implementation of Youth in Agribusiness Programs that envisions creating awareness and building the productive capacity of young people in Agriculture and aid the youth to curate innovative, profitable, and sustainable agricultural enterprises. 

She also designs innovative strategies to engage youth in agriculture. She is also a member of the National Taskforce that prepared the Kenya National Youth in Agribusiness Strategy and also a member of the Embu County Government Taskforce that domesticated the Embu Youth in Agribusiness Strategy. Judy is also a Mentor with the Global Give Back Circle where Girls are empowered to transition into independent Young Women.

Judy holds a Diploma in Administration from Strathmore University, a Higher Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource from the University of Nairobi (UON), Executive Masters in Organization Development in United States International University of Africa (USIU) and short courses in Rural Development from ILO Turin University and Galilee Institute – Israel a course on Program Management.
