Margaret Nafula Makelo

PhD

Dr. Margaret Nafula Makelo is a Kenyan working in Kenya.  She possesses a PhD in Plant breeding, Masters in Plant pathology, and Bachelor’s degree in Botany/Zoology, Diploma in Seed Pathology, Diploma in Crops Research Management. She is the Assistant Director – Partnerships and Resource Mobilization working with Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) where she has worked for 30 years.  Previously she was the Assistant Director, Technology Transfer in charge of coordinating outreach activities and Head of plant pathology section and coordinator of various projects. She is a polished drafter, editor, and reviewer of paper manuscripts, books and booklets, manuals, and a trainer of scientists on scientific writing, editing, and communication. She is a member of the National Technical Advisory Committee of the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Project (NARIGP). She is an Alternate Director on the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre Board and Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority Board.
